When you grow more aware of your thoughts, when you practice intensely watching your inner world of thinking, when you do not condemn, criticize or judge, you will gradually find your thoughts will gradually lose their randomness. You will be able to see your thoughts. You will see them separately appearing on your mental screen. You will be able to find the gap between two thoughts. As you are able to find the gap between two thoughts, know that gap is the silence. The silence that is between two thoughts is the deepest Silence of this whole Universe.
All spiritual practices, all meditations done to identify the gap that exists between two thoughts. As you practice meditation, you will be able to extend the gaps between thoughts. They will start out as very small gaps, small gaps that quickly disappear. But as you observe your thoughts, deeper and deeper, watching with more and more intense awareness of your emotions, as you open your heart and your whole being, you will find your thoughts will gradually come to make a kind of friendship with you.
Meditation will no longer be stressful for you. It will no longer be painful for you. You will, for the first time, realize you are separate from your thoughts. This is an intense experience in human existence. Know that you are separate from your thoughts.
