Your body is the most beautiful temple or cathedral ever created on earth. I have traveled all over the world, seen the most beautiful cathedrals, the stunning temples of South India, but I have never seen one like my body!! A temple or a church vibrates as long as the deity or the Lord is presiding inside. In the temple of the body the deity, the Lord, is ever presiding since we took our first breath.
They talk of renunciation, many people torture the body in the name of religious practices, but why should we torture the most beautiful gift? The only thing that you and I have to do is to destroy the 'wrong identification'. We need to become aware that I am not the body, but my body is my residence. That is enough. It is not to torture the body but to light the lamp of awareness that my Beloved lives in the body.
Just close your eyes, become intensely conscious of your body and gradually the light of consciousness will awaken the sleeping Beauty, your Beloved. You are beautiful not because you are beautiful. You are truly beautiful irrespective of how you look only when you separate yourself from the body and then perceive the Divine Light within. This is like creating a little distance from the mirror so that you can see your beautiful image. Put your face on the mirror, you can't see yourself!
Love your body, as you love a beautiful church or temple but don't forget that all the pains you have taken to reach the temple or the church is not just to see the temple or the church but to see the Deity or the Lord within!!
