True prayer is the blossom of our heart in love with God. Don't ever ask does God love me? As much as you never ask does God pray to me?
When you are in awe and gratitude for the showers of infinite grace and gifts from the Universe, you feel a deep sense of connection. Love bridges the individual with the Universe. And it has to begin from your heart. That is the reason every enlightened sage said, take the first step and God will take thousand and one steps toward you.
When you pray, you meditate, you are in silent surrender to the Divine, you are 'loving' the Mother. And the Mother, longs for it like every other earthly mother in this world. And every earthly mother knows what happens to her heart when her child, after all forgetfulness, returns to the mother and gives her a big hug and talks all about the fun and frown of life. The Mother's love just happens.
But for that happening you as a child have to take the first step. Then you don't have to ask for love, She will fill your cup of life with all that you need to be peacefully happy. I remember a wonderful word of J.F.Kennedy "Don't ask what your country can give to you, ask what you can give to your country", Following that eternal music, my heart sings - Don't ask what God can give to you, ask what you can give to God, and the rest is Magic of Celebration!!
